Our Academy Program
The PFA academy program began in the fall of 2006.  Since then, we have had over 300 players participate in our training programs and summer camps.  Here are some highlights of our program:

  • We offer a year round program for players from u6-u10, including training and games.  Our programs include Coerver foot skills training, shooting, and agility work, as well as goalie training.
  • Outdoors we field multiple teams in each age group in the Pennsylvania Premier Alliance league, successfully competing against the Strikers, North Stars, Northern Steel, Century United, Erie Admirals, Northern Crew, Stars United, and Foothills, among others.  Beginning in the fall 2008, PFA will field teams in the u11 and older age groups.
  • Indoors at PISA, we offer training for u6-10 players and field multiple teams in each age group from u8-u10.
  • In the summer, we offer camps at a number of locations.
  • Throughout the summer we sponsor pick-up games for players from u8 to high school age, as well as adults who are interested in playing.
Our Academy Accomplishments
Our teams have achieved remarkable success in the short time that they have trained with our program.
  • One of our girls team won the Elite Division of the Jefferson Cup tournament, the fifth most competitive tournament for girls in the United States.  Very few teams from PaWest are even accepted to this tournament and no other u10 team from PaWest has ever won this Championship.
  • One of our boys teams won the Memorial Day Shootout tournament in Erie in 2008, beating high caliber teams such as the Cleveland Internationals.
  • One of our girls teams made it to the finals of the 2008 Mid-American Soccer Classic tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • One of our boys teams made it to the semi-finals of the Memorial Day Shootout in 2007.  This was a remarkable achievement, because these players were u8s, playing in the u10 division.
  • One of our girls teams made it to the semi-finals of the Memorial Day Shootout Tournament in Erie in 2007.
  • One of our teams swept the PPA fall league in 2007, beating the Strikers, Stars United, Century United, Northern Crew, Erie Admirals, and Northern Steel, outscoring their opponents 40-3.
  • Another team we developed swept the PPA fall 2007 league, beating Century United, Northern Crew, Northern Steel, North Stars and Strikers, outscoring their opponents 30-2.
  • Our indoor teams often play up in age group, and still finish at the top of the PISA indoor leagues.
  • One of our teams has been ranked among the top ten teams in their age group in the country by soccerincollege.com.
  • One of our girls teams has been ranked as high as #1 in Pennsylvania, #4 in Region One and #5 in the nation!
Our U11-U19 Program
PFA is excited to announce that we have acquired Classic Club status in PaWest.  As a result, we will be fielding teams in the u11 and older age groups, beginning in the fall of 2008.  We have several established teams in these age groups, as well as some new teams we will be adding in the fall of 2008.  We are looking forward to the challenges of maintaining our standards of excellence in our older teams.
