PFA ACADEMY PHILOSOPHY PFA Academy Programs focus on developing young players to be competitive for classic league play at the U11 level. The PFA academy program supplements your local club program by providing training at a higher level not usually available in local clubs. Much of the basic ball handling and 1 vs. 1 material will be based on the Adidas Coerver™ Coaching Method. (http://www.coerver.co.uk/)
PFA Academy's Goal is to provide a quality experience with professional coaches who can teach the technical skills players need to succeed in a manner suited to the players. The player-to-coach ratio is low to assure proper attention. In addition, players receive age appropriate instruction in a fun atmosphere. The academy program will include training and games.
PFA Academy Teams are created for girls and boys in the U9 and U10 age groups. These teams are in addition to your club team. PFA academy games and events are scheduled to minimize conflicts with club games.

PFA ACADEMY PROGRAMS
The PFA Academy can be a year-round training program. However, it is offered on a seasonal basis to enable players to obtain the level of quality of training they desire without overwhelming either their enthusiasm for the game or their ability to participate in another favorite activity. PFA is and will remain committed to providing a quality, value-oriented and local training alternative for players interested in improving their game.
Fall/Spring Programming is held outdoors one-night per week for u6-u10 players. At the u9 and u10 level, PFA forms teams to play weekend games. Team training often includes an optional second training session each week for those players who would like to do more. This second training session focuses on skills, agility, and shooting games. Events and games are scheduled to minimize conflict with the age group’s regular community club game schedule so players can continue to play for their club teams. PFA also offers goalie training, shooting clinics, and speed and agility training.
Winter Programming is provided in two consecutive sessions at the Pittsburgh Indoor Sports Arena (PISA) in Harmarville. Each age group will receive weekly training by our professional staff. Indoor games are available for u8-u10 players. Additionally, teams may elect to participate, at an additional cost, in periodic tournaments held by PISA and other facilities. Practice and game schedules will be based upon the availability of facilities and PISA schedules.
Summer Programming provides a break from our usual routines. We offer a variety of activities such as summer camps and shooting clinics where our players can just relax and have fun. Our most popular summer program offers pick-up games at the Middle Road fields for all PFA players and Fox Chapel Area Youth Soccer players. We do not charge a fee for PFA or FCAYS players to participate in this program as a way of thanking Fox Chapel Area Youth Soccer for their cooperation with our program.
